Tarangire National Park

Land of Giants and Ancient Baobabs

  • June to October, when the dry season concentrates wildlife along the Tarangire River.

Famous for Tanzania's largest elephant herds and its skyline of ancient baobab trees, Tarangire draws wildlife from across the region to the Tarangire River during the dry season. Quieter than the Serengeti but every bit as rewarding, it's a favourite for travellers who want big game without the crowds.
